Audi A4 1.8T UltraSport

Introduced in 1994, the Audi A4 has become a staple in the Euro tuning world as a great platform for modifications from mild to wild. Toronto resident Goran H. is no stranger to the brand having picked up this UltaSport-edition a handful of years back for the sole purpose of being a daily driver and nothing more.

For those unaware of the name ‘UltraSport’ refers to, it was a special edition introduced in North America shortly before being replaced by the B7-generation in 2005 . This S4-looking package included an aluminum interior dash trim, accents, and door sills, S-line steering wheel, front and rear lip spoilers, side skirts, and a set of 18-inch RS4 alloy quattro GmbH designed wheels.

Adding to the S4-look, Goran replaced the factory side mirrors with an OEM pair of S4 aluminum mirrors for an even more authentic look. Typical of all Euro-tuners, the car remains mild in the visual department, but with such clean lines who would disagree?

Under the hood, the Audi came with the famously good 1.8-liter turbocharged engine that produces 161bhp. Goran needed a bit more power, especially as he knows speed with his crotch-rocket so a quick order went in to APR for the Stage 1 ECU chip upgrade and diverter valve. MT Motorsport built a custom intake system to help the engine breathe better resulting in power gains good for 244hp!

For rollers, a set of Yokohama Envigor 235/40 tires wrap around the 18-inch RS4 alloy quattro GmbH designed wheels, giving sufficient traction during wet conditions and fun times during the dry.

At back, the de-badged Audi received the S-line lip spoiler coupled with tinted windows for the typical clean Euro look. The only other addition Goran added to the sleek UltraSport are a pair of rainbow chrome AMF decals – is that a sign that AMF is going Euro? Who knows!

Although this Audi doesn’t pack more horsepower than an R8 or roll on $5,000 wheels, it does however look beautiful in its OEM form. Keep in mind that this is a daily driver for Goran, so nothing extreme was planned for thisĀ  vehicle despite the slight power-up goods. What do you think of it? Are you a fan? Did you even know that Audi had an UltraSport edition available?
